Diwali just happened, your diet might’ve caught some aag 🔥… but don’t worry, you don’t need to go nuts on your nutrition. We got you!

Remember when everyone kept telling you to “be mindful” of your eating habits?

“Be mindful about portion sizes”

“Have a balanced diet”

“Count your macros”

And honestly, most of us were like… “Haan haan… but what does that even mean?” 🤷‍♂

By the end of this newsletter, you’ll know:

  1. What a Balanced Diet really means

  2. The three levels of balancing your meals

  3. How to look at your plate and actually know if you’re making a healthy choice

Balanced Diet = Premium Fuel for Your Body

Think of your body as a high-performance car 🚗💨.
Would you pour random leftover cola into a Ferrari’s fuel tank? Exactly.

Same with your body

A balanced diet = right mix of:

Macronutrients: Proteins, Carbs, Fats

Micronutrients: Vitamins & Minerals

Hydration: Water, water, water!

Calories: Enough to keep your body running smoothly

Simple. That’s all you need for now.

Three OG Levels of Balancing Your Plate

Level 1:

Empty Calories and Nutritional Value Calories aren’t the same.

Empty calories = sugary drinks, processed snacks, fast food. They fill your tummy, sure… but do they fuel your body? Nah.

200 calories of chips ≠ 200 calories of grilled chicken + veggies.

Technically the same number, completely different outcomes.

Level 2: Check for Colour Diversity 🌈 

If your plate looks like it’s stuck in black-and-white mode, time to add some colour.

Different coloured fruits and veggies bring different nutrients —
greens for iron and fiber, reds for antioxidants, oranges for vitamin A, and so on.

You don’t need to overthink it — just aim for 3–4 colours on your plate.
It’s the simplest way to make sure you’re getting a good mix of vitamins and minerals.

Think of it as:

Your plate = canvas 🎨
You = artist
Goal = edible masterpiece that fuels you right

Level 3: Macro Magic 💪 

Here’s where things get a bit more interesting.

Every meal you eat has three main nutrients — carbs, protein, and fats — and a balanced plate usually includes all three.

Carbs give you energy, protein helps build and repair, and fats support hormones and nutrient absorption.

You don’t need to count grams or percentages.
Just eyeball your plate — aim for a mix of:
🥗 Carbs (grains, veggies)
🍗 Protein (eggs, lentils, paneer, meat)
🥑 Healthy fats (nuts, seeds, olive oil, ghee in moderation)

The goal isn’t perfection — it’s variety and balance.
If your plate looks like a team effort instead of a solo act, you’re doing just fine.

Your Next Step

Pick a level depending on how conscious you are about meals:

Level 1: Check if your food has empty calories vs nutrition

Level 2: Add 3–4 colours + know what each means

Level 3: Section your plate + macros in right proportion

Last week, we flew to Rajkot (again!) to tackle the toughest part of our cereal R&D — flavouring and coating.

We’ve made solid progress, but let’s be hones, it still isn’t exactly where we want it to be. The flavour needs that final spark of magic. So we’ll be hopefully flying again to Rajkot to finalise things for the last time.

Working alongside us is Mr. Suhas, 70 years young, the same man who helped kickstart India’s protein revolution with Amul back in the 1980s. And now, decades later, he’s helping us build the next one.

Proud (and honestly a little awestruck) to have such legends guiding us as we turn this crazy cereal dream into reality. 🥣✨
